Hi State Parents,

The State swim meet is upon us and we are so excited to cheer your swimmer along this weekend. There are a number of logistics to discuss for the rookie and for the veteran family to the state meet. Below are details (however, TAAF likes to be mysterious with information, so assume that the specifics for some details will be revealed when we check-in in Corpus).

COVID UPDATE
As mentioned in Saturday night’s email, TAAF and the City of Corpus Christi have revisited their guidelines in light of recent upticks in virus infections. Below is the only information that has been provided to us at this point.

“Additional safety measures throughout the sporting events will include encouraging athletes to limit their guests to two attendees during their respective competition. Also, the TAAF Executive Committee is directing its athletes when not actively competing, officials, and spectators to wear face coverings during the sporting events. In addition, frequent hand sanitizing and social distancing will be promoted.”

Meet Schedule
Attached to this email is the general meet schedule. The schedule is broken out by age group and gender. The times listed are for competition and do not include warmups. Each team will be assigned a warmup timeslot each day. According to TAAF, the team warmup times will be released on Tuesday afternoon.

In years past, swimmer registration has been set up outside the natatorium. Swimmers should arrive early for the warmup time to check in and receive their race information. They will also find the coaches, and be directed to the designated Tiger Splash swim area inside the natatorium.

Meet Results
Swim Results are typically posted in hard copy at the natatorium; however, parents may also download the app linked here to track heat sheets and results. It appears to function similarly to the Swimtopia app. https://www.active.com/mobile/meet-mobile-app

Heat Sheets
TAAF has not yet released the heat sheets for the meet. Once that information is released, we will forward it along.

Hotel Reservations
As a reminder, a few parents experienced issues with the hotel reservations, so we recommend everyone call their hotel soon to confirm their reservation details.
