- How do I take care of goggles?
- Always rinse goggles with cold
water after use. In addition, Method Daily Shower can be used to clean them and keep them from fogging (available at
Lowe's and Target). A 28 fl oz bottle
will cost about $3 and last for years. It is a natural, non-toxic, no-scrub spray cleaner with no harsh fumes. Spray goggles inside, wait a
minute, then rinse with cold water. Rinse again when you get in the
pool. This can be done every 2-3 times you swim.

- How do I take care of a swim cap?
- Always rinse your swim caps in fresh water after swimming. This will help to remove any pool chemicals. Dry off your cap after use and store it in a cool and dry location. When you are done for the day, you should dust your cap on the inside and outside with talcum powder, corn starch, or baby powder. Be careful when placing your cap in your swim bag. Finally, keep your cap out of the sun, a hot car and away from sharp objects to avoid damage. Leaving a cap in the sun or in a hot car will destroy it.

- For what reasons will practice be cancelled?
- Practices are usually only cancelled in the
event of lightning in the area. The pool is required to close for 30
minutes from when thunder is heard or lightning
is sighted. If lightning continues, the pool will be closed for the
remainder of the
evening. Practices are NOT cancelled due to rain unless lightning is
present. Weather conditions can vary from the pool to your house, so do
not assume practice is cancelled due to what is happening at your house.
Since weather in Texas is unpredictable and changes quickly, so
practices may be cancelled after you arrive at the pool. Lightning meters are actively used at all Tiger Splash events. Our swimmers
safety is our number one priority.
