    • If under 13 years of age, your child cannot have swam in any swim meets from January 1st - April 30th of the current year
    • For more information, see the TAAF Swimming Rules.

  • How many practices does my swimmer need to attend?
    • Attend as many practices as reasonably possible. You will be amazed at the progress your swimmer will make from the beginning of the summer to the end!

  • When does my child need their team swimsuit?
    • All swimmers need a black competitive style suit (one-piece for girls; jammers or Speedos for boys) or one of the team swimsuits in time for the first swim meet. Swimmers are welcome to wear other colored of swimsuits to practices. Two-piece or tankini swimsuits should not be worn to swim team practices or meets.
  • How do I take care of goggles?
    • Always rinse goggles with cold water after use. In addition, Method Daily Shower can be used to clean them and keep them from fogging (available at Lowe's and Target). A 28 fl oz bottle will cost about $3 and last for years. It is a natural, non-toxic, no-scrub spray cleaner with no harsh fumes. Spray goggles inside, wait a minute, then rinse with cold water. Rinse again when you get in the pool. This can be done every 2-3 times you swim.
  • How do I take care of a swim cap?
    • Always rinse your swim caps in fresh water after swimming. This will help to remove any pool chemicals. Dry off your cap after use and store it in a cool and dry location. When you are done for the day, you should dust your cap on the inside and outside with talcum powder, corn starch, or baby powder. Be careful when placing your cap in your swim bag. Finally, keep your cap out of the sun, a hot car and away from sharp objects to avoid damage. Leaving a cap in the sun or in a hot car will destroy it.

  • How will we know if practices are cancelled?
    • Swimmers will be notified by email if events are cancelled due to weather. The home page of the website will also be updated. Download the Swimtopia App to receive real time alerts.

  • For what reasons will practice be cancelled?
    • Practices are usually only cancelled in the event of lightning in the area. The pool is required to close for 30 minutes from when thunder is heard or lightning is sighted. If lightning continues, the pool will be closed for the remainder of the evening. Practices are NOT cancelled due to rain unless lightning is present. Weather conditions can vary from the pool to your house, so do not assume practice is cancelled due to what is happening at your house. Since weather in Texas is unpredictable and changes quickly, so practices may be cancelled after you arrive at the pool. Lightning meters are actively used at all Tiger Splash events. Our swimmers safety is our number one priority.

  • How early do we need to arrive for swim meets?
    • When the doors open! This will help lessen any anxiety for your swimmer and ensure they are ready for warm-ups when they begin. Also, there is limited space around the pool to watch the swim meets, so arrive early to find a spot and get settled!

  • What is a Pentathlon?
    • Participating swimmers will swim every stroke and an IM. Their points are added cumulatively for the meet and awards are handed out based on their overall finish in the meet. Swimmers not legal in all strokes have the option to participate in single events.
  • Where is Landa Park?
    • Landa Park Aquatics Complex is located at 350 Aquatic Circle, New Braunfels, TX 78130. It is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Dripping Springs. In addition to their Olympic-size pool, there is a baby pool with a slide and a natural spring with swings and slides to enjoy for an additional charge.
