Hi Parents,

We hope everyone enjoyed the popsicles and fun games in practice last week! As we prepare for the upcoming week, we have two very important and timely items for the team. Please: 1) register your swimmers for Saturday’s meet and 2) complete the Regional and State intent form.

Pentathlon Home Meet

• What is a Pentathlon Meet? This meet provides swimmers the opportunity to compete against others in their age group to complete all four swim strokes and the individual medley. For the swimmers who choose to participate in these 5 events, points will be awarded for their finishing times and accumulated over the five events to award a Pentathlon Ribbon for places 1st-6th. (Please read the Coaches’ Corner below for more information)
• Why the Pentathlon? This is a fun and lower pressure way for swimmers to challenge themselves to try all four strokes and an individual medley.
• What if my swimmer isn’t ready? For the swimmers who aren’t ready to try all four strokes or an individual medley, this is still a normal swim meet. They may register for events they are comfortable with, and participate in a freestyle relay.

Intent Form- Regional/State Meet
Parents are asked to complete this form (CLICK HERE) for ALL swimmers regarding their intent to participate in the July 10th Regional Meet, and for the chance to qualify for the State Meet July 28th- Aug 1st. There is an option on the form for swimmers who will NOT participate, so all families should complete the form. DEADLINE: June 24th.

Scholarships
For parents of recently graduated seniors, please spread the word that Tiger Splash will again be awarding scholarships to current or former Tiger Splash swimmers. More details to come.

Board Elections
The Tiger Splash Board of Directors will hold elections in a few weeks and there are open positions for any interested parents. This a 100% volunteer commitment and no experience is necessary, just a willingness to help support our Tiger Splash swim team. More details to come, but please consider talking to a board member at practice if you are interested!
