Tiger Splash Families-

We had a great first week!  The team is officially full!  

James, Emily, and the JAVs have been doing a great job on deck the first few days of practice.    James will be out with work obligations on Wednesday and Thursday this week, but a beloved familiar face to many, Karen Cole, will be helping Emily with practices.  

Now that the weather has warmed up it is really going to start feeling like summer.

Practices

We know many of you are still involved in other sports and school obligations, but you can come to as many or as few practices fit your schedule.  Even if one night a week works for right now it is great to get back in the pool and to get to know the coaches and other swimmers.  New and returning swimmers, I encourage you to reach across the lane line and introduce yourself to someone you don't know.

Practices begin on Wednesday, May 2nd. We practice Monday- Thursday at Founder's Park

May 2nd-June 7th

June 11th-July 12th

A swimmer's session time is based on the session for which they registered. Swimmers are expected to arrive before their scheduled practice time in order to be on deck and ready to stretch.

July 16th-July 25th

Times are adjusted for the practices leading up to State.

Parent Meetings

We will hold parent meetings in the Founders Pavilion on:

May 14th 5:30-6:30 pm, May 15th 4:45-5:15 pm, and May 17th 6:15-6:45 pm

These will give you a chance to ask board members questions and get to know some of the parents.  We will give a rundown of what to expect and how the season works.

Caps, Gear, Merch, and Swag

Your Tiger Splash gear needs are up on the website.  You may order the optional team suit (TYR Phoenix: maroon & black) or a black suit for meets.  There is a link to Swim Freak if you click on Shop and then click on the Suit.  Swim Freak will also be back on Monday, May 21st for all practices and your child can try on suits, goggles, caps, etc.  Please have them try on suits while they are still dry.

Volunteers

If you have not signed up for possible volunteer interests, please make sure you do so. Our team is entirely volunteer-run except for the coaches.  Our first meet will be Saturday, May 26th and we will need your help to make it a success. Keep your eyes out for information about opportunities.

Kick-off Party & Team Picture

We will combine the kick-off party and the team picture this year, so mark your calendars to attend.  Even if you have not been to any practices yet, please plan to come to the party and the picture on Thursday, May 31st.

Paperwork

If we do not already have a copy of your child's birth certificate we will need one on file for TAAF purposes. Please bring one to evaluations. You will also need to sign a TAAF waiver form before your swimmer can be on deck, a photo release form.

JAV Scholarship

Thank you to our amazing JAVs who have already put in so much time and energy in the first few days.  We are working out the details about a service based JAV scholarship. Information will be coming out soon.
